 Altrincham
was awarded 'Fairtrade Town' status by the
Fairtrade Foundation, early in 2006. Altrincham
Fair-trade Steering group produces a free 'Fairtrade
Guide' which explains what Fairtrade is and where
you can buy fair trade goods in the Altrincham
area. It lists shops, restaurants, cafes and even
some hair dressers that use Fairtrade products.
These guides are available from Trafford local
libraries.
Fairtrade status for the town means that in the
Altrincham area there is a full range of Fairtrade
products available for purchase, with over 350
Fairtrade products in the local supermarkets,
local restaurants and cafes.
