Altrincham Town PartnershipWho we are

The Altrincham Town Centre Partnership is a non-profit, self funding organisation formed in 1998 to help tackle everyday issues that affect the town centre and to promote Altrincham. It involves local businesses, major retailers, developers and landowners, residents, community groups, schools, representatives from Trafford Council and other statutory organisations working together to ensure our town centre remains a vibrant area. The Partnership is a recognised representative organisation for Altrincham businesses and we are regularly consulted on town centre proposals and planning applications.

Specifically, we:
  • Bring businesses together to identify and tackle issues collectively
  • Share management information i.e. visitor or crime statistics, to help our members make more informed, strategic decisions
  • Help to secure funding to promote Altrincham, our members and for town centre projects to improve trading conditions
  • Link our members with organisations who can enact positive change
Partnership in Action

Car parking and transportation is always high on our agenda, working with Trafford Council, we have improved the flow around the town, with improvement to Stamford New Road and Regent Road. We negotiated with Councillors for the return of free parking on the Oldfield Road car park on a Sunday and improved disabled parking bays on Central Way. We agreed with the council, that new parking arrangements are to be put in place at Regent Road to allow retailers better access for deliveries.

We also

Secured funding to introduce various crime reduction projects which has helped make Altrincham safer. We work with developers to regenerate areas of the town creating new attractions and increasing the number of visitors. The Partnership also secured funding for a brand new piece of public art for the town.

Councillor Colledge Leader of Trafford Council says of the Partnership: "I am impressed that rather than take a confrontational approach the Partnership works hard to present its concerns in a robust but constructive manner. I don't believe that if a decision is made you have to stand behind it at all costs. If people are telling you something needs to be looked at again then you must listen. We do listen to the Partnership and I am pleased that we are able to make changes when necessary"
